We are getting ready to enter into a brand new school year. Some of you may be excited and anxious, while others may be depressed at the thought. There are some of you who are setting high goals to get A’s, and then there are some who may have already planned which class they are going to skip. I’m just keeping it real. One truth that is for sure is that a “truly saved” Christian doesn’t have to be a failure. To be honest, success and prosperity are already yours, but you have to reach up and grab it. You may be familiar with the blessings of Abraham. Well we are under those blessings through Christ (Gal 3:9.) I encourage you to do your homework on Abraham and the blessings God gave him.
We must always remember that God did not create us to be failures and live in sorrow (though you may have some times of sorrow; trouble won’t last always.) Sin and humans’ constant rebellion against God is what causes most of the ills of life. The world was not originally meant to be like it is today. Death, sickness, and pain are all around us. The good news is that as Christians we are in this world, but not of this world. We have a spiritual inheritance through Jesus that no person or thing can steal from us. Our treasure is laid up in Heaven. All our needs will be met, and we don’t have to beg the world for anything. The Bible says, “My God will supply all our needs according to his riches and glory” (Phil 4:19.) It also says, “I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children (us) beg for bread” (Psalms 37:25.) Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly!
In order to get the full benefits of God’s blessing to us we have to be obedient to God and his Word. In Bible Study, we have been talking about the importance of obedience to God. It is critical to obey him, and live according to his will. I can tell you a lot about that! Proverbs 3:6 informs us that if we keep God first in our life, everything will be easier than if we didn’t acknowledge God. Don’t fight God you can’t win, just give in to him. You’ll find that what you are seeking in the “world” eventually will grow old and die. God and his spiritual blessings are forever!
With all that said, I am confident that as Christians we have no excuse to fail or settle for anything outside God’s will. In school A’s, no-suspensions, and Honor Roll should be our goals. If you have faith, pray, and honestly do your best no matter what, then you will see success in school, church, and life in general. It sounds corny, but it’s true. In this life you have to be a “Go-Getter” if you want to achieve anything. So how much more confident are we knowing that in this life we have God on our side. He wants to see us go higher, and one of the best places to start is school. I don’t care what happened last year, make the decision now to do your best and receive God’s blessings this year. If you need help with anything you can contact me, or most of the other adults in church that are willing to help. You have no excuse to fail, and remember Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Welcome

Hey everybody, welcome to my blog spot. Here I am gonna be discussing a lot of topics mainly surrounding spiritual things and God, but every now and then I may discuss secular topics. No matter what I'm gonna keep it real and true. When the spirit inspires me to write I will, and other times it will just be me expressing one of my many strong opinions. A little about myself: I am a young man in college who loves life, my family, and most importantly God and being used by him. I don't want you to get the picture that I'm this young sanctified Holy Roller, because I'm not. I'm still struggling with a lot personal issues in my life, but I am not worried because I know with God I have the victory. I keep my trust in the Lord. So if you are a person who hates talking about God and his goodness then this is the wrong blog for you! Because I'm going to be talking God most of the time.
Like most of I have a past in which I have done some things that I am not so proud of, but I don't apologize to any of you for it because I did what I did and we all have come short of God's glory. Don't get me wrong there are Christian who have led very clean lives, but the majority has not. God has restored me, and brought me from the captive darkness of the "World." I am still continuing to grow in Christ everyday, and through that I have learned and experienced some quite interesting and helpful things. So with that said come to know me more and lets grow in God together! Don't be a Stranger leave comments and stay reading!
