Just a thought...
Why do so many people who think their being spiritual are self-righteous, they stand pointing fingers at others like they can't fall short of God's Glory, lol, I laugh sometimes because Their are people out here with the true spirit of God... and can see all that mess from the back row, lol Many of the folks who are pointing fingers are guilty of what they are pointing at..... just a thought.
Rebuking and correction is done with love/ The enemy condemns and tells you that you can ever get right or overcome, he leaves you hopeless. Don't ever let people condemn you! We are all sinners but those who choose Christ as the head of their life they become sinners saved by grace....Thank God for Jesus!

Keep Your Temple Clean
The word temple is defined as ‘a building where people pray and worship’. The Word of God tells us that our bodies are temples (1 Cor. 6:19). Christians’ bodies are temples because this is where the Holy Spirit dwells. Take note of the word Holy, remember that it means ‘special and sacred’. The spirit that lives inside our temples (bodies) is very special, very sacred, and most importantly, from God. So it makes sense that we shouldn’t allow just anybody to hang around our temples. Many people believe that they can do whatever they please to their bodies because it belongs to them. People who strongly believe this are not really followers of Christ, because the Bible explains to believers that our bodies are not our own (1 Cor. 6:19-20). As young Christians we need to understand that we are not spiritually of this world. The Word of God says in Eph. 2:2, that before we were saved we all walked according to (lived and were ruled by) the prince (the devil) of the power of the air. Now as Christians we are to live and walk according to Jesus Christ. He should now be the ruler and Lord over our lives. One way to please our ruler is to present out bodies as living sacrifices. We can help in doing this by not just letting anybody in our bodies. Sin has disgusting consequences. If you don’t believe, just consider the physical consequences of sexual sin: HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, Herpes, Chlamydia, Pubic Lice (Crabs) etc. STD’s are ugly, nasty, and can be deadly, just like sin. Sexually transmitted diseases are real and spreading like crazy, especially in Toledo. In the CDC's study, a large number of teens have been randomly tested, but in Lucas County, tests are performed only on people who think they may be at risk. Last year, of 214 people under the age of 20 tested, eight percent were positive for Gonorrhea, and 22 percent were positive for Chlamydia.Aside from the physical dangers, catching a disease also creates deep emotional and spiritual problems. None of these consequences are worth the few seconds of pleasure you might get during sex. It is just best to abstain from sex. With all of these issues, it’s no wonder why the Bible says that sex is meant for married couples only. He made it that way for a good reason. I know I can’t tell people what to do. Some of you are going to be hard-headed. But do yourself a favor, before you lay down with somebody who you may think is fine and healthy give it a second thought. Remember that whether you accept this truth or not, your body is God’s temple. You may just be getting ready to let a beautifully wrapped HIV/AIDS packaged temptation destroy your temple! The best way to prevent this from happening is to abstain, or at least take some measures to protect it. Condoms are not 100% effective; but abstinence is. They might be able to protect your body from STDs, but they can’t protect your soul from the consequences of sin. Your body is the only temple you have. Don’t put your health at risk for something that, in the long run, could only end up hurting you. Remember to take care of your body because God blessed you with it to glorify him!

A Trip to the Windy City
When I went to Chicago to audition for the BET Gospel competition, I did not come back the same. Music is my escape from stress. I love to sing. Above any genre of music, I love gospel. It has been closest to my soul. Ever since I was a child I observed my mother singing praises to God, so the love of music and gospel were deeply rooted in me. I had to go to the contest. My spirit was pushing me there. I was determined to go, and with God’s help, I scraped up the money just in time. When I arrived in Chicago, I was ecstatic. “The Windy City” was a huge place, and I was all by myself. I thought, I’m stepping out on faith. Not too long after I arrived, I checked into my hotel room. There was no time for playing. My main focus was on one thing: the audition. At 8:00 am I was standing in a never-ending line of hopefuls. The line started forming at 4:00 in the morning, so there were about three to four thousand people ahead of me. Talk about feeling intimidated! I began to doubt, wondering how the judges would pick me out of all those people. However, my doubt did not stay long, though. I affirmed myself, I didn’t come all the way to Chi-Town to give up! For about four hours I stood in that line. Each minute a multitude of feelings screamed inside me. I simultaneously felt anxiety, joy, nervousness, and hunger. While waiting, I conversed and bonded with the singers that surrounded me. I listened to their stories and their songs. Each story and voice was unique. By standing in line with them, I witnessed how serious singing was to them. Eventually I was led, along with fifteen other contestants, to a judging room. The judge gave each competitor twenty-five seconds to sing. Some people couldn’t handle the pressure and messed up as they sang. When my number was called, I let all my nervousness die. I lifted my eyes upward and my voice filled the room. The Holy Ghost had taken over me and I was singing directly to God. As the timer interrupted my praise, I remember privately celebrating, I didn’t screw up! Although everyone in the room couldn’t deny the spirit they felt while I sang, the judge didn’t choose me. They explained that they were picking people for more than just their singing ability. I silently asked the Lord, Why didn’t I win, God, even though I felt your presence all around me? Before I could pity myself any further, a voice answered, It’s not your time. Immediately my mind calmed and I became more encouraged. I had been touched by something powerful in Chicago. I didn’t come back the same man. Some may question my sanity as they read this. They may wonder how is it that I can still celebrate even though I didn’t win. That’s because on my trip to Chicago, my relationship with God was renewed. I stepped out on faith and he rewarded my efforts with an inner peace that comes only with a personal relationship with him. Now my singing and praise is on a higher level and I am determined to do a work for God. We all should commit ourselves to do a work for the Lord.

You Have No Excuse to Fail
We are getting ready to enter into a brand new school year. Some of you may be excited and anxious, while others may be depressed at the thought. There are some of you who are setting high goals to get A’s, and then there are some who may have already planned which class they are going to skip. I’m just keeping it real. One truth that is for sure is that a “truly saved” Christian doesn’t have to be a failure. To be honest, success and prosperity are already yours, but you have to reach up and grab it. You may be familiar with the blessings of Abraham. Well we are under those blessings through Christ (Gal 3:9.) I encourage you to do your homework on Abraham and the blessings God gave him.
We must always remember that God did not create us to be failures and live in sorrow (though you may have some times of sorrow; trouble won’t last always.) Sin and humans’ constant rebellion against God is what causes most of the ills of life. The world was not originally meant to be like it is today. Death, sickness, and pain are all around us. The good news is that as Christians we are in this world, but not of this world. We have a spiritual inheritance through Jesus that no person or thing can steal from us. Our treasure is laid up in Heaven. All our needs will be met, and we don’t have to beg the world for anything. The Bible says, “My God will supply all our needs according to his riches and glory” (Phil 4:19.) It also says, “I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children (us) beg for bread” (Psalms 37:25.) Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly!
In order to get the full benefits of God’s blessing to us we have to be obedient to God and his Word. In Bible Study, we have been talking about the importance of obedience to God. It is critical to obey him, and live according to his will. I can tell you a lot about that! Proverbs 3:6 informs us that if we keep God first in our life, everything will be easier than if we didn’t acknowledge God. Don’t fight God you can’t win, just give in to him. You’ll find that what you are seeking in the “world” eventually will grow old and die. God and his spiritual blessings are forever!
With all that said, I am confident that as Christians we have no excuse to fail or settle for anything outside God’s will. In school A’s, no-suspensions, and Honor Roll should be our goals. If you have faith, pray, and honestly do your best no matter what, then you will see success in school, church, and life in general. It sounds corny, but it’s true. In this life you have to be a “Go-Getter” if you want to achieve anything. So how much more confident are we knowing that in this life we have God on our side. He wants to see us go higher, and one of the best places to start is school. I don’t care what happened last year, make the decision now to do your best and receive God’s blessings this year. If you need help with anything you can contact me, or most of the other adults in church that are willing to help. You have no excuse to fail, and remember Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”
